PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejector in which ink jetted by a flushing operation can be washed by a simple constitution, and a liquid overflow does not occur. SOLUTION: The liquid ejector has a flushing section of a liquid injection body, wherein the flushing section includes: a planar cleaning liquid absorbing material which receives the liquid jetted from the liquid injection body; a supplying derivative which supplies the cleaning liquid to the upstream side of the cleaning liquid absorbing material by a capillary force; and a discharge derivative that discharges the cleaning liquid of the cleaning liquid absorbing material.
