<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow integrity and continuity of an inner layer of packaging material that is destined to come into contact with a product to be packaged at a splicing part where a first web and a second web of laminated packaging material are spliced together. <P>SOLUTION: The method for splicing together the first web 10 and the second web 20 includes the steps of: holding an end portion 18 of the first web 10, with an inner surface 14 of the first web 10 oriented in a predetermined direction; cutting an end portion 28 of the second web 20 to form an undercut surface; superimposing the undercut surface of the second web 20 onto the end portion 18 of the first web 10, with an outer surface 27 of the second web 20 in contact with the inner surface 14 of the first web 10; and bonding the undercut surface of the second web 20 to the end portion 18 of the first web 10. At the splicing part 30, the inner surface 14 of the first web 10 and an inner surface 24 of the second web 20 together define an integral, continuous inner surface 14, 24. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
