<p>A system for tethering a plurality of avatars to a user 71 on a social networking website having a first avatar 72 association to the user 71 accessing the social networking site which is held in a database 13, and a second avatar association to the same user 71. The first avatar association connects the user to an avatar image that the user wishes to project, and the second avatar association connects the user to a third party advertiser that has its own avatar 74. Optionally, the user 71 has a third avatar association connecting the user to the avatar 73 of the website sponsor. A webserver 11 generates web pages for the social networking website in response to a remote PC's 19 request and, relying upon the stated avatar associations, delivers a webpage 26 having the two or three avatars 36-38 adjacent to a one another and adjacent to a communicative activity 32 of the first user on the social network website.</p> |
