PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply system for hydraulic unit, which can elongate the life of a battery by increasing the usage rate of a DC-DC converter thereby increasing the efficiency of the DC-DC converter, and by prolonging the operation time of a machine thereby reducing the number of cycles of charge/discharge. SOLUTION: The power supply system for hydraulic unit includes a hydraulic pump 32, an electric motor 33 for pump, a hydraulic actuator 35, a main battery 41, a sub battery 42, an inverter 43, which operates the electric motor 33 for pump by converting DC power from the main battery 41 into AC power and supplying it, and a controller 44, which operates, by receiving DC power from the sub battery 42. The system is equipped with a relay 47 which switches on or switches off the charge from the main battery 41 to the sub battery 42, and the controller 44 detects the residual quantity of the sub battery 42, and when the residual quantity of the battery lessens than a predetermined value, the relay 47 is switched on.
