PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxially oriented composite sheet with good balance among properties of heat resistance, chemical resistance, low hygroscopicity, interface adhesiveness, varnish impregnating property and machinability as for insulating a motor and an electroinsulating material having the superior properties. SOLUTION: In the composite sheet constituted by laminating a nonwoven cloth (B) layer comprising polyarylenesulfide fiber on at least one face of a biaxially oriented thermoplastic resin film (A) layer not via adhesive, the nonwoven cloth (B) layer forms a net like body in which fibers are fused together, the glass transition temperature T<SB>gA</SB>of the thermoplastic resin constituting the layer A and the glass transition temperature T<SB>gB</SB>of the polyarylenesulfide constituting the layer B satisfy formula (1):-5°C≤T<SB>gB</SB>-T<SB>gA</SB>≤15°C, and the elongation at break of the composite sheet is 70% or more.
