<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare sustained or controlled release dosage form composed of a drug topically active in the gastrointestinal tract. <P>SOLUTION: Composition include a three-component matrix structure comprising: (a) a lipophilic matrix in which an active ingredient is partially contained, provided that the lipophilic matrix comprises a lipophilic compound having a melting point within the range of 40-90°C; (b) an amphiphilic matrix; and (c) an outer hydrophilic matrix comprising a hydrogel-forming compound wherein the lipophilic matrix and the amphiphilic matrix are dispersed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
