The method involves variably adjusting light amount of modulated light by an optomechanical light constriction device (7), where the light is guided towards a reference multi-band photo receiver (4). Color values of the receiver are used for dynamic calculation of correction factors for stabilizing a useful color measuring channel. The useful color measuring channel is equipped with a useful multi-band photo receiver (3) that corresponds to the reference receiver. Electronic signal processing of the reference receiver and the useful receiver is synchronously enabled. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for performing a method for stabilizing drift of a color sensor.
