Disclosed are a three-dimensional image display device and a method of deriving motion vectors capable of avoiding derivation of false motion vectors and capable of deriving motion vectors with high accuracy. Specifically disclosed is a three-dimensional image display device (100) which comprises an image acquiring unit (148) that acquires three-dimensional image data; and a vector deriving unit (158) that derives correlation values indicating the strength of correlation between each of partial reference image data items that serve as image data items in divided areas of an arbitrarily chosen first frame (204) of the three-dimensional image data and partial object image data items that serve as image data items in divided areas of a second frame (206) differing from the first frame, that retrieves a partial object image data item having the highest correlation value with the corresponding partial reference image data item for each of the partial reference image data items, and that derives motion vectors. The vector deriving unit derives the correlation values between the partial reference image data items of image data (202b) for the right eye and the partial object image data items of the image data (202b) for the right eye or between the partial reference image data items of image data (202a) for the left eye and the partial object image data items of the image data (202a) for the left eye.
