<p>A signal (DLS) generated by delay being given to a digital signal (FLS) by a delay unit (122) is transmitted to a clipping computing unit (124A). A clipping analysis unit (123A) uses the period of time secured by this delay to specify a soft clipping period only in cases when soft clipping has become necessary because the absolute value of the signal value of the digital signal (FLS) has exceeded a threshold value (L1) which must not be exceeded. Then, the clipping analysis unit (123A) turns on a clipping flag (CLF) and notifies the clipping computing unit (142A) of the soft clipping period for the signal (DLS). Then, the clipping computing unit (124A) performs soft clipping on the signal (DLS) in the period in which the clipping flag (CLF) is "ON". Due to this, soft clipping processing can be rationally performed limited to cases when soft clipping processing is necessary.</p>
