PURPOSE: An aqueous suspension is provided to ensure excellent long term stability since the content of an emulsifier is very low or the emulsifier is not included. CONSTITUTION: An aqueous suspension of functionalized, completely or partially hydrogenated nitrile rubbers comprises an emulsifier content of maximum 1 part by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the aqueous suspension, wherein the nitrile rubber in the suspension has an average particle diameter of 0.01-0.9 (preferably 0.08-0.5) mu m, as measured by dynamic light scattering.
