<p>The disclosure relates to a monoclonal antibody or an antigen binding fragment thereof that (a) specifically binds to avβ6 but does not bind other αv integrins; (b) inhibits the binding of β6 to latency associated peptide (LAP) with an IC50 value lower than that of 10D5; (c) binds to αvβ6 in a divalent cation-dependent manner that does not distinguish between the use of Ca2+/Mg2+ and Mn2+ for cation-dependent binding to soluble αvβ6 and (d) prevents activation of TGF-β. This disclosure also relates to uses of same and compositions comprising same.
