Method and paver for manufacturing a street covering

The method involves distributing material stocks (26, 27) for manufacturing a street covering by a distributor screw (16) of a paver before a placement plank (17) of the paver. Size of the material stocks is determined and adjusted. Height of one of the material stocks from the placement plank is determined by a sensor (34). A level of the material stocks is held up to a predetermined level before the plank by a height-adjustable guide plate (23) between the distributor screw and the placement plank and/or is brought to a height corresponding to the predetermined level. An independent claim is also included for a paver for manufacturing a street covering.
