The device (2) has a memory (3) e.g. RAM, for storing media data, and a reading device (4) e.g. optical or wireless close range receiver, radio frequency receiver and infrared receiver, for contact-less communication with a transmission device (5). A controller (7) selects and transmits the media data, and a data transmission interface (8) e.g. universal serial bus (USB)interface, wireless local area network (WLAN) interface and wireless data transmission interface, connects the device with a display device (10) over a data connection (9) i.e. USBconnection.
