<p>The endoscope (10) has a mechanical actuator (32) e.g. electric motor, arranged in a proximal end area (28) of an endoscope shaft (16). Tension elements (34, 36) e.g. Bowden cables, are mechanically coupled with a distal end section (18) and the actuator. A control unit (30) controls the actuator in a speed stage. The control unit operates the actuator in a high speed stage when either starting dead time by axial clamping of the tension elements at beginning of deflecting movement or a running path by axial declamping of the tension elements at end of the deflecting movement is avoided.</p> |
