PURPOSE: A portable terminal and control method thereof are provided to prevent a baseband chip or an application chip from being restrictively selected and to increase the efficiency of graphic data processing. CONSTITUTION: A baseband chip(182) generates first graphic data in order to control a menu through the processing of voice communication. An application chip(181) generates second graphic data through the processing of multimedia data. The application chip receives the first graphic data through a graphic interface. The application chip displays first/second graphic data on a display unit(151).
