A slide type compound writing instrument configured such that a regular 60 mm long pencil lead can be advanced in a shaft tube shorter than normal shaft tubes. A slide type compound writing instrument is provided with a shaft tube (1), writing elements arranged in the shaft tube (1) so that the writing elements can advance and retract and including a writing element (27) provided with a lead containing section (8), a clip base (13) forming a part of the writing elements, sliding in an advancing direction or a retracting direction to advance or retract the lead containing section (8), and having the lead containing section (8) inserted therein, and a tip hole (31) provided in the tip of the shaft tube (1) so as to be offset in the radial direction of the shaft tube to the lead containing section (8) side from the axis of the shaft tube (1) and allowing the tip of the lead containing section (8) or the tip of a refill (10) to project from the tip hole. |
