PURPOSE: A system and a method for controlling economic driving of hybrid vehicles are provided to improve marketability to the driving of hybrid vehicles by controlling the consumption of batteries and fuel. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling economic driving of hybrid vehicles comprises the steps of: determining a first control value by calculating moment fuel efficiency as the real consumption of batteries and fuel if a hybrid vehicle is driven; determining a second control value by calculating fuel efficiency of a specified driving pattern; adapting weight factors to the first control value and the second control value and determining an economical operation control value by summing up the applied values, and controlling the output torque of a motor and an engine.
