The invention provides an antibody which comprises a linear V H -C H 1-V H -C H 1 heavy chain fragment associated with two light chain fragments, wherein the C-terminus of C H 1 is joined directly to the N-terminus of V H at the Fd-Fd junction of the heavy chain fragment, a nucleic acid encoding the heavy chain fragment, and a method for the preparation of said antibody.
