PURPOSE: A robot cleaner and a control method thereof are provided to reduce calculating operation quantity and operation time of a movement route and maintain optimum moving capacity. CONSTITUTION: A control method of a robot cleaner comprises the following steps. A cleaning area is searched. The cleaning area is compartmentalized into multiple small areas. A movement route is produced in the small area. A connection point is produced between the small areas. The small area information including the connection point between the movement route within the small area and the small area is stored. The entire route is produced based on the connection point, the movement route within the small area, and the connection point. |
