PURPOSE: Electronic beam sterilization of medical devices is provided to sterilize living heparin coating through a single step sterilization using an electronic beam. CONSTITUTION: Electronic beam sterilization of medical devices is constituted as follows. A package having a desiccant is placed in a medical device. The package is flushed using non-reactive gas at least one time. Arbitrary residual gas and moisture are eliminated by generating vacuum at least one time within the package. The package is hermetically sealed. The package and medical device are exposed to electron beam radiation under the condition of a certain time, amount of bean, and temperature. |
