PURPOSE: A coolant temperature recognizing method for a vehicle is provided to improve stability on the operation of an actuator by stably recognizing the temperature of coolant. CONSTITUTION: A coolant temperature recognizing method for a vehicle comprises the following steps. Whether a variable water pump is driven by force by external conditions under an engine-starting condition or not is determined. If the variable water pump is driven by force, the temperature of detected coolant is recognized and is applied on control information. If the variable water pump is normally driven due to the temperature rise of the coolant, the temperature of detected coolant is recognized and is applied on engine control information. If the variable water pump is periodically driven for mixing the coolant, the temperature of the coolant detected under the turning on state of former period is recognized as the present temperature of the coolant and is applied on the engine control information. |
