1,033,642. Endless conveyers. BOSTON MARINE & GENERAL ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. Jan. 2, 1963 [May 12, 1962], No. 18339/62. Heading B8A. A machine for drawing off cable from an extrusion machine comprises a pair of endless belts 18, 18, which rotate in a horizontal plane. Each belt 18 is mounted on a respective saddle, both saddles being slidably mounted on shafts 9, 9, carried by a crosshead 8 mounted on a pair of spaced parallel vertical guides at one end of the shafts 9, and a second crosshead 8 mounted on a perpendicular telescopic pillar 7 at the other end of the shafts 9. The crossheads 8 may be raised or lowered by turning manually a shaft 12. The latter is screw-threaded to act on the crosshead 8 mounted on the guides 6, and is connected by a sprocket 14 and chain 13 to rotate a similar screwed shaft associated with the telescopic pillar 7. The saddles may be traversed laterally by rotation of respective screwed rods 11, 11. The cable is supported as it is fed into the machine by means of a pair of vertically spaced rollers 26 and similar rollers guide the cable at the output end. Each endless belt 18 carries a series of spaced elastic pads 19.
