PURPOSE: An air cooling underwater pump is provided to improve the cooling performance of a drive unit and reduce manufacturing and construction costs by minimizing the size of an underwater pump. CONSTITUTION: An air cooling underwater pump comprises a drive unit(110), a frame, an impeller(130), a casing(135), a fan, a supply pipe(150), an exhaust pipe(160), and a protection unit. The drive unit comprises a rotator and a stator. The frame protects the drive unit. The impeller is positioned at the lower part of the frame and is coupled with the rotary shaft. The casing is coupled with the lower end of the frame and is combined with a column pipe. The fan is positioned inside the frame and is coupled with the rotary shaft to rotate with the rotary shaft. The supply pipe supplies external air to the inside of the frame. The exhaust pipe discharges air inside the frame to the outside of the frame. The protection unit senses the abnormality of the drive unit and stops the operation of the drive unit.
