FIELD: process engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to filtration. Proposed pleatable nonwoven material comprises thicker shape-stabilising fibers and thinner fibers that govern filtering effect. Thicker fibers are uniformly incorporated in thicker fibers in lengthwise direction along nonwoven material outer surface, while in direction perpendicular to nonwoven material outer surface there is such thicker fiber density distribution gradient that creates thicker fiber higher concentration at the center or on one of outer sides. Both thicker and thinner fibers are made from one material and glued together due to solidification from fused state. Thicker fibers are made up of larger-diametre polymer threads and thinner fibers are made from smaller-diametre polymer threads.
