Apparatus for performing the method of making an electrical connection as claimed in Specification 956,118 has a pneumatically operated piston-rod 8, which is actuated by a trigger 4. The rod 8 drives a clip pusher 13, which drives a clip 15 along a mandrel block 17, past a passageway 40, into which the end of a wire has been inserted. The edges of the passageway sever the wire insulation as the clip travels past and the clip drags the bare wire on to the terminal post. Simultaneously a transfer slide 16 is retracted and a new clip 15 pushed thereonto. The rod 8 is spring- retracted and during the withdrawal operation, the slide 16 rises, shearing off the clip 15 from a strip thereof. |
