The tool has a die (3) receiving a sheet (4) and provided with an edge (31) defining a folding line of an edge (40) of the sheet. A mobile punch (5) is movable between a work position and a rest position. A folding unit (32) displaces the edge of the sheet along the line in a raising position. A cam (6) is pivotably mounted on the punch, and is provided with a peripheral surface (60) including a part (600) to form a support surface and another part (601) to form a stop surface that stops the edge of the sheet in the raising position along the line when the punch is in work position. An independent claim is also a stamping press comprising a movable upper frame.
