MELTING OVEN FOR MAKING AND REFINING ALLUMINIUM ALLOYS

The invention refers to metallurgical equipment and is meant for intensification of the processes of heat and mass transfer in the melt by strong stirring. It can be used in different types of furnaces and mixers for stirring and refining metals and alloys, as well as for mixing in and fast melting of scrap metal and other solid admixtures into the bulk of the melt achieving uniform composition and temperature over the whole volume of the melt. The objectives of the invention are improvement of mixing efficiency, reduction of energy consumption and simplification of the service. That is achieved by the melting oven for making and refining aluminum alloys, which consists of a melting pool with raw material heating and melting systems, and electromagnetic stirrer in a shape of a cylindrical rotor and having permanent magnets mounted on it, positioned at one of the vertical walls of the bath at a convex part of a wall in a shape of a half-cylinder with its vertical axis approximately on the level of the inner surface of bath wall and a length approximately corresponding to a maximum depth of the melt in the bath, wherein the rotor with permanent magnets, having the ability to move in a vertical direction, is installed coaxially to the concave half-cylinder-shaped part of the bath wall.
