PURPOSE: A composition for cell therapy is provided to treat brain tumor by gene therapy using umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells. CONSTITUTION: A composition for diagnosing or monitoring brain tumor contains umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells labeled with a marker. IL-8 or GRO-alpha is expressed in the brain tumor. The marker is enzyme-based fluorescence detecting agent containing luciferase and Tat-peptide induced magnetic nanoparticle. The tumor includes ganglioneuroma, acoustic neuroma, chordoma, CNS lymphoma, craniopharyngioma, hemangioblastoma, medulloblastoma, or tuberous sclerosis.
