The method involves applying observation data of an object to classifiers of a matrix. Estimation of membership probabilities of the object observed in different classes or groups of classes is calculated. Estimation of reliability of measurement of the calculated membership probability estimation is calculated. The results of the classifiers are joined to obtain membership probability of the object observed at a class (ck) from a set of classes (c1-ck) based on the calculated membership probability estimation. An independent claim is also included for a device for discriminant analysis of characteristic observation data of an object.
