The device (1) has an electric circuit (113) for controlling the blocking of a component (15) with respect to another component (13) in a locking position. The circuit is opened and closed when the former component is not or in the locking position or a blocking component (19) is not or in an active position. The circuit has electric contacts (115, 117) carried by the latter component and blocking component, respectively. The contacts are electrically connected with one another when the former component is in the locking position and the blocking component is in the active position. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an assembly for fixing a sub-assembly on another sub-assembly of a motor vehicle (2) a method for fixing a sub-assembly on another sub-assembly of a motor vehicle.
