PURPOSE: A method for treating type 2 diabetes, comprising an additional method for insulin glargine and metformin is provided. CONSTITUTION: A method for treating type 2 diabetes contains desPro36 exedin-4(1-39)-Lys6-NH_2 or/and pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; insulin glargine or/and pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; and metformin or/and pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The insulin glargine or/and pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and desPro36 exedin-4(1-39)-Lys6-NH_2 or/and pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof are subcutaneously administered. The metformin is orally administered.
