PURPOSE: An electric vehicle charging system and charging control method are provided to safely charge an electric vehicle. CONSTITUTION: An electric vehicle charging system(300) includes a charging station(200) and a charging device(100). A charging device is coupled with the charging station by a first charging plug(110) to transfer charging power stored in the charging station to an electric vehicle. The first charging plug comprises an electrode with an external sensing function. The charging station determines whether the charging device contacts a human body by an electrical signal received from the first charging plug. If it is determined that the charging device contacts the human body, the supply of charging power is stopped. The first charging plug comprises a power supply terminal, a ground terminal, and a coupling terminal. |
