PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new dipeptidylpeptidase IV inhibitor using an extract originated from a plant having an eaten experience.

SOLUTION: The dipeptidylpeptidase IV inhibitor contains crocetin or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient. The dipeptidylpeptidase IV inhibitor has excellent dipeptidylpeptidase IV-inhibiting activity. The dipeptidylpeptidase IV inhibitor can be utilized for prevention or treatment of disease to be ameliorated by the inhibition of the dipeptidylpeptidase IV.
