<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make effective a function which uses a page description language after installation or updating without the need of restarting the whole apparatus at all after the page description language is installed or updated. <P>SOLUTION: An installation updating system part determines whether a printer system part is in the middle of printing (S1), stops the printer system part if it is not in the middle of printing (S2), installs or updates by copying a PS module of a postscript package to the printer system part (S3), restarts the printer system part (S4), and makes effective the generation function of image data based on a postscript even without restarting the whole of the image forming apparatus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
