PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing conveying rollers with which the deterioration of conveyance properties is suppressed. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the conveying rollers 31 for conveying recording media includes: a first step where a nearly cylindrical member 16 is formed by bending a plate and also positioning parts 73 having a notch shape in the end parts of the cylindrical member are formed; and a second step where an axial bend which is generated on the cylindrical member in the first step is straightened by imparting bending load to the predetermined places of the cylindrical member in the state where the cylindrical member is supported on the center sides of the positioning parts in the length direction of the cylindrical member.
