Disclosed is a method for producing an aqueous gas, wherein a reactant fluid that contains a polyhydric alcohol and water is caused to flow through a reaction site (14a), which is provided with a catalyst (18) having a surface that extends in the flowing direction of the reactant fluid, at an average flow rate of not less than 0.05 m/s with a reaction time of not less than 1.0 s.
