<p>PURPOSE: A pouch type lithium secondary battery is provided to bypass excessive current from travelling inside an electrode assembly to a safety member when the secondary battery is penetrated by a conductive material and to reduce the explosion or ignition possibility of the battery. CONSTITUTION: A pouch type lithium secondary battery(1) includes: an electrode assembly consisting of a first electrode plate(110), a second electrode plate(120) which has a polarity opposite to the first electrode plate, and a separator interposed between the first and second electrode plates; and a safety member(200) including a first conductive plate, a second conductive plate, and an insulating plate(230) for insulating the first and second conductive plates, wherein the first conductive plate is electrically connected to the first electrode plate and the second conductive plate is electrically connected to the second electrode plate.</p> |
