摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-luminance and high-definition image display device capable of preventing generation of an optical defect such as a white spot while restraining deterioration of luminance performance in the image display device using a surface light source device with an edge light method. <P>SOLUTION: The image display device includes a light guide body, a prism sheet, a primary light source, and a display panel. A light reflection surface 44 of the light guide body has a plurality of lens rows 44a. The plurality of lens rows 44a are extended substantially along a direction perpendicular to a light incident end face 41, and are arranged nearly in parallel with each other. A plurality of projected structures 45 where they are spattered are attached on the light reflection surface 44. Height projected from the light reflection surface 44 is 2 &mu;m or more on each of the plurality of projected structures 45. On the light reflection surface 44, two or more of the other projected structures 45 are existed within a circular range having a radius of 100 times the height of the projected structure around an arbitrary projected structure 45 as the center. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
