<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment which accesses a storage medium at an appropriate speed after considering heat to be generated in its own equipment caused by accessing the storage medium and the power consumption of its own equipment. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic equipment includes: a recording means for recording video data generated by an imaging means into the storage medium; a transfer means for transferring the video data stored in the storage medium to an external device; and a determination means for determining whether the set mode of the its own equipment is a recording mode for recording the video data in the storage medium by the recording means or a transfer mode for transferring the video data to the external device by the transfer means. When the determination means determines that the set mode of the its own equipment is the recording mode, the recording means records the video data in the storage medium at a first speed.
