PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that prompts an initial setting. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a communication unit that communicates with an external device; a prohibition unit that prohibits the communication of the communication unit when the initial setting of a local host is designated; an execution unit that receives the initial setting while the communication by the communication unit is prohibited; and a control unit that notifies the initial setting to be reset when the initial information is not input after a preset time passes.
