PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a counter for displaying the length of a fishing line, which can correct the length of a fishing line in a simple operation in response to the wound state of the fishing line. SOLUTION: The counter 4 displays the length LN of a fishing line as a water depth of a tackle. The counter 4 includes a reel control portion 30 having a fishing line length-measuring means and a display control means, a display portion 5, a switch-operating portion 6 having a memorizing operation means and a correcting operation means, and a memory 43. The fishing line length-measuring means measures the length of the fishing line from rotation position data on the basis of the relation of the length of the fishing line with the rotation position data from a spool sensor. The display control means displays the measured length of the fishing line on the display portion 5. By the operation of the memorizing operation means, the reel control portion 30 memorizes a corrected line length ALD related to the line length displayed on the display portion 5 in the memory 43, and corrects the line length measured with the line length-measuring means by the subsequent operation of the correction operation means on the basis of the corrected line length memorized in the memory 43.
