PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cordless iron capable of providing efficient ironing by the movement in both forward and backward directions. SOLUTION: The iron has an accommodating section 24, below a power supply section 18, for accommodating the rear end section 6b of a base 3. When an iron body 1 is placed on a stand 16, the portion of the power-receiving terminal 15 connected to the electrode 20 is positioned forward of the rear end section 6b of the base.
