[PROBLEMS] When an index for generating an access path having high performance in obtaining the result of an inquiry is added, changed, or deleted with respect to some user application, an access path corresponding to another user application is not affected thereby. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A processor for a database management device creates index groups by grouping a plurality of indexes, accepts an access request to which an index group is designated, selects an index determined to have the highest performance in obtaining the result of the inquiry from among the indexes included in the index group, and generates the access path using the index.
