PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable communication device capable of easily turning an imaging direction to an object and preventing the degradation of the quality of a photographed image, and a method of controlling it. SOLUTION: The portable communication device having an imaging function includes: a camera module (14) which is disposed a the casing (12) of the portable communication device; an auxiliary light source module (15) which is disposed in the casing so that an optical axis is parallel to the optical axis of the camera module and forms a visible light spot on an object in the optical axis direction of the camera; and a control part (21) which makes the auxiliary light source module emit light to form the light spot, and then temporarily stops the light emission of the auxiliary light source module when performing imaging by the camera module.
