SURFACE-TREATED PLATED STEEL SHEET AND METHOD FOR PRODUCTION THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that the improvement of chemicals resistance and rust-proofing property without chromate treatment is urgently needed because mainstream is chromate-free treatment taking into consideration the environmental problem, thus making it increasingly difficult to secure rust-proofing property.

SOLUTION: The chromate-free surface-treated plated steel sheet having performance equivalent to that of chromate treatment is obtained by: applying an aqueous coating material free from chrome containing metal compounds and/or metal ions to a steel sheet immediately after pulling up from a plating bath; drying the steel sheet by the remaining heat of the steel sheet to form the thin film of metal compounds on the upper layer of a hot-dip plating layer; and further forming an organic resin film on the thin film.
