PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for assembling a variable display device that can improve efficiency in assembling work of the variable display device while reducing the assembly failure of the variable display device. SOLUTION: A variable display device unit 35 of a game board 30 includes a mounting member 400 allowing a third symbol display device 42, a substrate 410 and wires to be disposed, and mounted to the game board 30, and a frame member 430 independent of the mounting member 400 and mounted to the front face of the game board 30 in a form of surrounding the periphery of a display screen. The method for assembling the variable display device includes a first step of inserting the back face side of the frame member 430 into a mounting opening 404 to mount the frame member 430 to the game board 30, and a second step of mounting the mounting member 400 to the back face side of the game board 30. Consequently, wiring for the mounting member 400 and on the rear side of the variable display device unit 35 is not caught in mounting the frame member 430 to the game board 30, thereby improving efficiency in assembling work of the variable display device unit 35.
