The present invention relates to a kitchen appliance for an aircraft. The kitchen appliance comprises a receiving chamber (or cooking chamber) for receiving at least one food container in the kitchen appliance, a heating device arranged in the receiving chamber, and a heat exchanger for cooling a vapour contained in the receiving chamber. The kitchen appliance according to the invention allows food to be heated without hot and/or fat-containing vapours escaping into the aircraft cabin and without adversely affecting the quality of the heated food.
