The transmission (2) has a position detecting device detecting positions (D, N, P, R) of a transmission-selector lever (7). States of a start-up switch (5) i.e. engine start-stop button, a brake actuation switch (6) i.e. brake light switch, and the detecting device are detected by an electronic transmission control unit (4). The unit is programmed for the purpose of an emergency unlocking function, such that actuators required for unlocking a parking lock (3) are controlled during simultaneous presence of three defined conditions based on the states of the switches and the detecting device.
