PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an image display device capable of forming a TFT circuit layer with excellent reliability by avoiding generation of a crack or a crease on an inorganic film, when forming the inorganic film on a resin substrate or a resin layer. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing the image display device wherein the TFT circuit layer is formed on the upper surface of the resin substrate or the resin layer includes a process for forming the inorganic film on the surface of the resin substrate or the resin layer on which the TFT circuit layer is formed. The inorganic film is formed at a temperature below a glass transition point (Tg) of the resin substrate or the resin layer from room temperature, and the TFT circuit layer is formed at a temperature over the glass transition point (Tg) of the resin substrate.
