PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image communication device capable of being suited to signal characteristics, depending on an analog transmission line length from a housing station (replacement unit) to a destination terminal that varies, varying on the destination. SOLUTION: A modem transmission level and modem sensitivity which are communication control information corresponding to the connection form of each destination are beforehand registered into a destination information storage part 103, by making it correspond to an abbreviation dial number corresponding to a predetermined destination. In a communication instruction that uses the abbreviated dialing number, when the modem transmission level and the modem sensitivity are registered in the destination information storage part 103 by making it correspond to the abbreviated dialing number, a modem 123 is controlled by the registered modem transmission level and the modem sensitivity. When the modem transmission level and the modem sensitivity are not registered, the modem 123 is controlled by a signal transmission level and the modem sensitivity which is beforehand registered in the device.
